Examinations

TPA pupils are encouraged to take examinations in ISTD ballet, modern and tap.

We also offer LAMDA drama examinations. Although these examinations are not compulsory, they give our pupils a goal to aim for and a great sense of achievement.  They do help pupils to grow in confidence and self-esteem. Examinations also help pupils’ personal development through dedication and creativity.

Pupils are invited to take part in examinations at the school’s discretion. However, all students are welcome to come to all examination classes.

Where one syllabus class per week is taken, a second weekly coaching class must be taken in the examination term.  This requirement is to ensure that pupils reach the required standard for our examinations.

We offer private dance lessons for those pupils wishing to take the Royal Academy of Dance graded syllabus.

The examinations are accredited with OFQUAL and attract UCAS credits.  Vocational examinations (intermediate, advanced 1 and 2) provide the basis for a career as a dancer or further training as a dance teacher.  For more information, please use ISTD or LAMDA links above.
